The lobby design of the Indochina Plaza Hanoi (IPH) is based on the contrast of different materials: glossy white stone versus naturally rough grey stone. The two monolithic blocks seem to extend through the entire building, vertical circulation is coated with natural grey stone and lead the visitor on their “path” through the building.

Designed and implemented in a way never before seen in Hanoi, the skin of grey stone enhances the verticality suggesting movement known as “raining stone”.

In this mineral environment, the furniture (bench, reception, counter, etc.) is designed as free-standing objects. In order to highlight them in this minimalist space they are rounded and coated with a traditional Vietnamese pink lacquer.
