G8A’s “Pizza in Paddy-Field Village” project for the renowned Pizza 4P’s group offers an immersive experience by bringing a vernacular ambiance into the stark mall context. The design proposes a dual experience, blending two intimate worlds: “the house” and “the nature”, both reflecting traditional Northern Vietnamese living habitats.

The peripheral organic planters serve as spatial devices, providing pockets of intimacy for groups and families, while the “house” encourages a sense of togetherness as diners share a meal under one roof. Unlike the fixed seating arrangement in “the nature” setting, the square tables in ”the house” allow for flexible configurations.

The selection of natural materials and rough finishes, such as exposed cement and untreated timber, enhances the rustic atmosphere, standing in contrast to the bright, polished surfaces like ceramic tiles and white false ceilings commonly found in large shopping halls.

This project is part of a broader G8A series, which includes the “Floating Village” and “Courtyard Village” projects, all reimagining traditional Vietnamese architectural styles to suit the needs of Pizza 4P’s.
